BTS to U.S. Time Celebrities of the Year..."The World's Biggest Band"

Time, a renowned U.S. news magazine, has named the group "Entertainer of the Year."

"It's not only the most popular group on music charts, it's also the biggest band in the world," Time said on the 10th (local time). "It's the culmination of pop stars, breaking all kinds of records."

Time praised the unprecedented success of BTS in the era of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) as it constantly communicated with fans.

"The bond between BTS and the fan club 'ARMY' has deepened," Time said. "The world has stopped and most other celebrities have failed during the year of frustration, but BTS has done it."

"The outstanding success of BTS shows changes in the consumption of fandom and pop music," he said. "It is a case of research in which (groups and fans) human relations have dominated the music industry."

The Associated Press reported that BTS had been selected as the "celebrity of the year" and said, "It showed a huge global presence during the Corona pandemic, supporting movements like 'Black Lives Matter' with its fans."

BTS expressed confidence in his future activities, saying, "We will be a group that can give fans comfort and relief."

J-Hope said in Time, "I wanted to be an artist who can give people positive energy, and such thoughts brought out what we are today in harmony with our sincerity."

"There are times when I'm surprised (this year) that unimaginable things have happened, but I ask myself, 'Who would do this if it wasn't for us?'" Sugar said.

"I don't know if we've actually achieved fame," RM said. "But one thing for sure is that people don't accept what Korean boys do as a kind of syndrome or a phenomenon, and they think ( BTS) is fine."

Some observers say that BTS will also have a positive impact on winning the Grammy Award as it was selected as the U.S. Time magazine's Celebrity of the Year.

BTS was nominated for Best Pop Duo and Group Performance at the 63rd Grammy Awards, the first music awards ceremony in the U.S., on the 24th of last month. The award ceremony will be held on January 31 next year.
