BTS and Big Hit Entertainment donated $1 million (about 1.2 billion won) to #BlackLivesMatter.
The U.S. entertainment weekly Variety reported on the 6th (local time) that BTS and Big Hit Entertainment donated $1 million to an organization related to "Black Lives Matter."
The donation was delivered earlier this week, and Black Lives Matter delivered a receipt to Big Hit Entertainment on Friday, local time, Variety said.
BTS said on its official social networking service (SNS) account on the afternoon of the 4th, "We oppose racism. We are against violence. I, you, we all have the right to be respected. We'll be together," she wrote in Korean and English, joining #BlackLivesMatter in her voice.
Big Hit Entertainment also said, "We are in the process of donating, and we are still in the process of transferring money, so we cannot reveal the source of the donation and the exact amount."
