Ahead of the release of Map of the Soul: 7, BTS released the comeback trailer for “Interlude: Shadow,” featuring rapper Suga which delved into the “the responsibilities and fears that follow the success achieved as a member of BTS.” The music video/comeback trailer showed the rapper “surrounded by a crowd that personifies his multiple egos and desires.”

BTS released the second comeback trailer for Map of the Soul: 7 with “Outro: Ego,” featuring rapper J-Hope which gave a look at how their path, “hasn’t been easy, but nevertheless was chosen by fate and is willing to keep on that lane.” Both the lyrics and the music video go through the past seven years since BTS’ debut.

“Black Swan” served as the first single for Map of the Soul: 7, with an emotional theme of an artist fear for losing their passion. Instead of hiding from their fears though, they face them head-on on in the song.

“ON” was the lead single from Map of the Soul: 7 and the song is a reflection on the groups calling and their mindset through the past seven years together.
