BTS tops 10 Billboard charts…a big record feast
BTS swept the charts, topping Billboard's 10 categories.

According to the latest chart released by the U.S. Billboard on the 21st (July 24th), BTS topped the "Artist 100" chart. As a result, BTS topped Billboard's main chart "Hot 100", "Artist 100", "Global 200", "Global 200", "Social 50", "Digital Song Sales", "Canadian Digital Song Sales", "Song of the Summer", "World Album" and "Japan Hot 100" on the same day.

"Artist 100" is a chart that aggregates the activities of singers such as music, album sales, radio and social media. On the chart, BTS beat Olivia Rodrigo, who had been at number one until last week. It showed the power of the "21st century pop icon" by sending all prominent singers such as ceramic cat (3rd), The Weekend (4th), Justin Bieber (5th), and Post Malone (6th). BTS won his 17th career top spot in "Artist 100".

On the 20th, "Permission to dance" beat "Butter" in the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the list. Only 13 teams in history have replaced their No. 1 song on Billboard's most influential "Hot 100" chart with their follow-up new songs. The last record was Drake in July 2018, when the BTS achieved the record in about three years.

BTS also became a singer with five "Hot 100" number-one songs, including "Dynamite," "Savage Love," "Life Goes On" and "Butter," and "Permission to Dance." "In the past 10 months and 14 days, BTS has produced a total of five No. 1 songs, including 'Dynamite'," Billboard said. This is the shortest time since "King of Pop" Michael Jackson. "In the nine months and 14 days since 1987, Michael Jackson has put five songs from the album 'Bad' on top of the Billboard charts.

"Japan Hot 100" is also attracting attention. BTS's "Butter," "Permission to Dance," and "Dynamite" ranked first, second, and tenth on the charts that can gauge popularity in Japan, respectively. Except for BTS and third place ENHYPEN, they are all Japanese musicians.

In "Canadian Digital Song Sales," "Permission to Dance" topped the list, showing extraordinary popularity in Canada. In addition, "Butter" is at the top for two consecutive weeks on Billboard's new chart "Song of the Summer" that determines the best global summer song, and "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," the fourth full-length album released in February last year, is still at the top.
