BTS J-Hope (Jung Ho-Seok) has surpassed 4.5 million followers on Spotify, the world's largest music platform.
According to Spotify on Wednesday, J-Hope had more than 4.5 million followers on the previous day. It is the first record for a Korean solo artist and ranks fifth overall in K-pop, including the group.
J-Hope topped the list with 1.34 million followers on April 8 last year, breaking the record for a Korean solo artist. Since then, more than 3.16 million people have been increasing in the past year and seven months, ranking first.
In particular, on September 14, K-pop's overall artist ranking, including the group, rose from sixth to fifth, becoming the only solo artist to make the top five. First place is BTS, followed by BLACKPINK, TWICE, EXO and J-HOPE.
On J-Hope's Spotify page, eight songs are registered, except for the solo songs on the BTS album. The first solo mix tape released in March 2018 includes seven songs from "Hope World," and a solo single "Chicken Noodle Soup. Feat. Becky G."
